School at Home
A Collaborative Solution: Quality + Value + Innovation
The public has often had great interest in better supporting home education. Harmony makes this possible by providing dedicated one-on-one parent support through our substantial network of mentors and certified teachers. These three services are pillars to our solution.
- Rich distant learning curriculum needed to ensure a quality education from home.
- Educational accountability including tracking student progress.
- Financial accountability for the use of educational funds.
These services provide the essential justification that enables public schools to extend their support to home education. Parents work with Harmony to choose from a variety of approved curriculum and provide reports on their child’s progress. Parents are provided a budget and can be reimbursed for their educational expenses.
In this way, parents are better enabled to address the unique educational requirements of their family.
School at Home Comparison
School at Home closely resembles homeschooling except children remain enrolled in a public school while parents select from a variety of curricula that align with state standards. Like homeschooling, parents take on the primary role in their child's education, but with added structure, guidance, and support from Harmony and the public. While School at Home may not be the right fit for every family, it offers a balance of flexibility and support that works well for many.

What’s the difference between school-at-home, public school, and homeschool, and how does Harmony Ed bring them together?
Public school typically involves students attending a traditional school building with set schedules, while homeschooling is directed entirely by parents with no connection to public school systems. School-at-home combines elements of both, providing structure, curriculum, and resources similar to public school but with the flexibility and independence of homeschooling.
Harmony Ed bridges these systems seamlessly. Through partnerships with public schools, we offer families the freedom to customize their child’s education with tuition-free funding, while still meeting state standards. Parents can mix and match online and textbook-based curriculum, and students can participate in extracurricular activities at local schools—all with the personalized support of dedicated mentors and certified teachers.
